PRACTICE PROFILE 

 

Ernie joined Chambers after completing his pupillage with Mr Peter Duncan SC, Ms Olivia Tsang, Ms Yvonne Fong, Mr Samuel Yip and Mr Jeffrey Tam. 

 

Ernie is developing a broad criminal and civil practice.  On the criminal side, Ernie has experience in cases involving offences of dishonesty, violence, Customs & Excise, triad, immigration, sexual offences, public order offences and industrial summons concerning public health and construction.  Ernie has also developed an interest in commercial crime cases such as SFC matters, fraud, corruption and money laundering.  In particular, he was led by Ms Olivia Tsang to act for a defendant in a 70-day case concerning a scheme to defraud HKEX.

 

In his civil practice, he has experience in areas such as company matters, insolvency and bankruptcy, competition law, public law, contract, land, trust, probate and personal injuries.  He also has experience in interlocutory applications including obtaining Mareva injunction.

 

Ernie accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers' work.  He is fluent in English, Cantonese and Putonghua.  He is capable of providing written submissions and conducting hearings in both English and Chinese.
